Testimonials from WIESCO Veterans

Working with other teachers and students in a WIESCO camp is a life-changing experience.  When I hear about Latvia or Poland or Lithuania in the news, I pay attention.  I wonder about the students and the teachers I got to know there.  The WIESCO camps have taught  me so much about how important it is to get to know people face to face.  Ivar in Daugavpils is a real person to me.  Max in Plunge is a real person.  I wonder how life is for Natalia and for Alma and even for Edvardus.    T.H.  (Poland, 1987)

One of the most interesting travel adventures ever. A lot of history that you would never learn without being there in person.  Rollie C. (Daugavpils, '07)

To see the smiles on the students's faces was worth every second of the trip. To be immersed in an entirely new culture, with new people, truly opened my eyes about what opportunities are waiting out there.

I have been fortunate to teach in several countries, including Latvia in the summers of 2002, 2003, and 2004. My experiences in Latvia were fantastic. I have never been in a situation where the students and staff became closer in such a short time. The support of the Latvian staff was "outstanding!"
I highly recommend this opportunity for anyone.
